Infighting Between Fans On Social Media

Our newest writer STIV has some hard-hitting words to say on infighting in the Gers support:-

For a while now I have been reading the works of Ninjaman. I may not agree with some of the things he says; most of the time I do, but what I don’t do is attack him or any other Rangers fans just because they may have a differing view of what I believe.

I follow a few feisty Rangers fans who are not afraid to voice their opinion on all things Rangers. What I see though is after voicing their opinions on matters some other fans think it’s ok to attack because they don’t agree with it. Well, it’s not.

I agree we can all get a bit pissy with each other, that’s human nature, but when the chips are down, we should be helping our own out. But we don’t do this because we all have our separate feelings on subjects. Again this is fine, but it’s also like religion- talk about it, but don’t try force it down other peoples’ throats.

The latest round of battles has been after Mike Ashley took Rangers to court to get an injunction. Some are backing Mike Ashley, some are backing Dave King. But you know what, this is alright to a point, but when it’s all said and done, we should be rallying round each other, joining each other and condemning a common enemy. Problem is, right now, no-one seems to know who this is. We all have our own minds on it.

Sometimes, we need to just switch off for a few days, even if it’s away from social media completely. Again, I know of a few guys that have deleted their accounts, all for varying reasons, each of them said they were going to do it, explained why and that was that. They were gone. Whether or not they come back it remains to be seen; hopefully they do as they were good people, ones I enjoyed conversing with. Somedays when I log into twitter, I see fans at each others throats from the get go. I log out again. I hate it, I hate the fact that we tear each other apart. If it’s not bad enough we do it, we also get the ‘fans’ of other teams doing it (I use fans in the loosest term possible here). We also get the media doing it, and we also get numerous blogs and websites dedicated to hating anything Rangers. It isn’t right, but then, to some it is now their normality.

Being a Rangers fan is never easy but we can all do our own bit and help ourselves by not attacking each other because we dared to think different. Let’s get ourselves picked up, dusted down and get the battle fever on, not amongst our own, but the real enemies of Rangers Football Club, meaning everyone who has said a bad word against Rangers and her fans, especially those in the media that make a living by writing sh**e about us.

I fully expect that not everyone will agree with what I have written here, but it is so true in my eyes. Sadly, some people are just contrarian for the sake of it.
Thanks to RSL giving me the opportunity to get this off my chest.

In the 2006 transcript of his trial for tax evasion the only cash asset in South Africa was 20M ZAR in his wife’s name. King transferred this during his equity heist in Specialist Outsourcing (1997-1999). This is the so-called family trust that King refers to. At this trial King applied for Special Assistance, which is the South African equivalent of Legal Aid, claiming that his only income at that time was the interest earned from this account, which he claimed was circa £6,000 per annum.

I was aware of the exchange control regulations which led me to the conclusion that the new holding company of Rangers would be MICROmega. However this was prior to my discovery that his legal bill was a minimum of £40M. At this point I realised that he was broke.

The investment vehicle for King’s shares was New Oasis. This was initially listed on LSE as Oasis, which is the family trust. WH Ireland and Somers were aware that if King had used the family trust to acquire shares in RIFC, then he would be in breach of RSA exchange control regulations.

The correction was issued 24 hours later. New Oasis was the actual vehicle used to acquire the equity in King’s name. This money was loaned to King.

So all talk of £30M family trusts and further investment in Rangers is a lie. There is no question that King is the front of this operation. His job was to deliver Rangers on a plate to Park. Taylor & Letham are not represented on the board. The Three Bears myth was created by Traynor.

As for the loans, we now know that, including shares acquisitions, Park, Taylor & Letham have spent £8M. King has not contributed one rand to this amount.

The lie of King having money to invest in Rangers led to the PGB of the SFA providing King with fit and proper status. They wanted his money in the Scottish game. They were duped.

If you look at our transfer business, Wilson was out of contract, Eustace has been released and is out of contract and Kiernan, who failed his medical, allegedly cost £200,000.

Any other acquisitions will be out of contract players.

If the shyster new board cannot raise soft investment or a listing, they will soon be trading whilst insolvent. Ashley may be holding fire until that day comes, or if he so wishes he can call in his debt immediately. The boycott of his retail operation by our stupid fan groups may expedite his legal action.

  2. Bill : Wilson is a better player , even if it is going back to players who played previously at the club , it looks like he passed his medical , I think we need a goalie and we should a kept Robinson , but probably won’t get one . I hated Scott Allan playing against us last season but would be happy to see him in blue and he would be another improvement.

Early days but as I said before I will give new manager his chance, as he at least deserves the same chance we would give any new manager, regardless of who brings him to the club !

    1. Wilson surprises me cos he is good. The others mentioned? You are having a laugh.

      1. Scott Allan was better than anything we had last season as of the others , Eustace is no way for me and to old and it was one of the complaints we all had was age , the other boy Kiernan I’m not sure of , so wait and see.

After that it’s just rumours with Jamie Langfield getting talked about as back up to Bell and Adam Rooney is apparently a target for £800,000 we don’t have lol

        1. Langfield has forgotten more about keeping than Bell will ever know

        2. Scott Allan is good player. Rangers won”t get him.

      2. I agree Allan probably is out of reach , It would be a good looking midfield though, with him Murdoch and an improving Shiels . Murdoch was left with doing too much of the donkey work by his more seasoned pros last season ,which made him look like a headless chicken at times, the wee man has heart and plenty of skill.

Up top will be interesting for us next season . who will get the shout with Miller ?

I also hope Temps and McKay get a proper chance

        1. Miller up top. What a depressing thought. If he continues to misfire reaching playoffs will be hard.

      3. Very depressing Bill , finances dictate he will be the one getting used regularly and we can only hope he has a better season than his last one.

    2. W&W have identified and will sign three players. Warburton has been honest enough to state that what he lacks in a transfer budget is compensated by excellent training facilities at Auchenhowie. We also now know that the squad he has inherited comprises of 14 players. When King announced that the players in our squad were reduced to 25 after the 11 were released, he was either lying or 11 more players from our squad have been released since he made that statement.

Assuming terms can be agreed with Eustace, we will have 17 first team players. Warburton states that he may be looking for up to five players in this transfer window. One will have to be found to replace Bell in goal, and one up front as Miller is all we have. Vuckic will be difficult to replace

We at RSL will not be surprised at Warburton’s lack of a transfer budget. Other fan sites who bought in to the King war chest mantra will be inordinately disappointed.

      1. I have just been informed that Eustace has not played since January due to knee problems. This led to his release by Derby. The last thing I want to be is the spectre at our new signing feast, but I assume he will have to pass a medical examination for insurance purposes?

  3. Twitter: Chris Graham (yes, the shortest lived NED of The Rangers… That one !) on the Three Names issue (assuming):
@1872blue They’ll lap it up and keep ‘donating’. Which is of course the whole point….

    Well !
If ever there was a comment/statement to a cult follower.

    1. Good morning Kenny

In my response to FLT, which has not passed muster from you and Bill, I outlined my take on some less than ethical decisions by our former owner. Like everyone else on this forum, I do my best to extrapolate on information that some other members might not be aware of. You and Bill are much better informed than I am.

There is much in the article posted by FLT that I could not agree with. Some of it I found persuasive. SDM is much smarter than most. He played King and Whyte perfectly, taking them for a total of £38M.

In my opinion, the financial tsunami of 2008 and the exposure of HBOS, led to the demise of Murray’s heavily leveraged enterprises. More stringent corporate governance was introduced (Dodd Frank and Basel I.II. III) and the cosy chats in Edinburgh that resulted in Murray extricating a billion pounds would soon be a thing of the past.

I believe there is a fundamental difference between Murray & King. The former spent his life making money by being shrewd. He may have cut a few corners to counter liquidity issues, but was smart enough, and sufficiently well connected, not to air his dirty laundry in public. The Police Scotland investigation of Whyte’s acquisition of Rangers might inadvertently shed some less than flattering light on SDM.

King is a con man. A convicted criminal. A glib and shameless liar. I find it appalling that this criminal is the chairman of Rangers. Three NOMAD and ISDX found his appointment as unpalatable as I do. SDM would not attempt to pass himself off as an accountant to solicit investment, nor would he pretend to be a caddy to evade tax.
Watching King caddy for Gary Player at The Masters is the best illustration of how far this penniless spiv would go to evade tax. King then went further by trying to rip off Player in a stud farm transaction. How Stewart Regan & Campbell Ogilvie could consider this individual fit & proper is worthy of an investigation.

James Traynor and Stephen Kerr have constructed a narrative that have convinced many of our supporters that King is acting in the best interests of Rangers. This narrative, which led to a professional board being replaced with penniless spivs and shysters, cost a minimum of £500,000. It is my informed opinion that Traynor & Kerr will take a minimum of £1M from Rangers in 2015. King, Murray & Gilligan won’t pay for their spin. We, the co-investors, will be expected to pay.

Sifting the spin and misinformation from the facts is far from easy. I will make errors.
I will, as you pointed Kenny, occasionally contradict myself as I try to keep up to speed with the latest lies.

I continue to be indebted to you, Bill and FTBR for your informed blogs.

      1. JJ ..

It wasn’t that the post didn’t pass muster, not at all. It was simply one section of it that we couldn’t print. You’ll know what section I’m sure when you think about it.

Thank you for the reply and to be fair this story has moved so fast at times that it’s easy to change tune, we’ve all done it JJ.

The possibility that King attempted to offload his shares to Ashley has led to inordinate anger on those sites who still believe that King will provide the funding required to guarantee promotion.

I find the idea of him attempting this to be consistent with the way he has always done business. As far as he’s concerned, RIFC is just another business to invest in and make a quick return.

But there is a fundamental problem for all shareholders. Assuming an exchange could be found, what price would the current 81.48M shares command? The depreciation in the book value of the assets and the fact that they are encumbered by a £5M security, would in my opinion not sufficiently underwrite a price of 18p, which was the lowest price in the final trading period.

Furthermore, King who is broke, could not participate in the AGM authorised release of 41M shares. Therefore his current holding would be diluted.

There is no doubt in my mind that King is under pressure to repay the money he borrowed to buy shares. He wants to cash in now before it’s too late.

There is also the threat of an Ashley induced receivership which would, at best,
      decimate any share price.

The Rangers fans are slowly waking up to the fact that we only have ten or so players, all of which have only one year left on their contract. They also should be aware that those including McGergor and Miller, who have appearance clauses that guarantee a year’s extension, will find their game time limited.

W&W will not only have to build a team to compete this season, they will also have to replace the ten first team players at the close season next year.

The new board’s decision not to renew some of the eleven contracts will backfire on them. It is a major gamble.

This season will be the most difficult one we have ever witnessed. In 2012 we had similar problems, but only part-time players to oppose us. This year we have effectively recreated 2012 and on this occasion we face much better opposition in Falkirk, Hibs, St Mirren and QOS.

The current squad do not have the confidence of the chairman. Their agents will be looking for new clubs in January.

I don’t believe that W&W truly appreciate the task ahead of them. If they think King is going to bankroll quality signings, they will soon be disabused of this notion.

      1. JJ,

Are you saying that Dave King will very soon be selling up his stake (of shares) because he will have to ?
In your opinion, what will be his ‘profit’ ?

I’m assuming he will actually be able to take part in any new share issue but whi is gonna’ be daft enough to loan him more money ?

The thing that i don’t get is why he went to Mike Ashley (if this rumour is true) ?
MA can buy but he will impinge on rule 19, again……and even if he realises this and still buys then why shouldn’t he buy for 2 or 3 pence each ?
18pence per share – yes, who in their right mind would buy at that price when we have a board that demonises institutional co-investors who push a hard deal. Sheesh !

So whatever he does with his shares he will still want to have the kudos of remaining chairman – unless Park et all show him the door.

        SS

      2. I honestly can say this with hand on heart and after watching Rangers home and away last season , the majority of those that left do not deserve a contract extension , maybe if one of the three managers tried playing maybe Jig as the holding central midfielder , or even stuck Daly at centre half as Utd had done previously we may have got more out of one or two , but for the most part the likes of Foster , Smith , etc deserve to go.

Not only that one or two that are still here like Bell should never wear the jersey again ! I have never seen a Rangers Goalie so scared of a cross ball.

Now were that leaves us in your analysis I’m unsure but I feel the majority of supporters are happy to see the back of them !

        1. Yes if better players arrive

      3. JJ,
If I could just add to your position on King and his wealth. Firstly this was part of a statement issued by Micromega to the JSE in January 2014.

” Mr King and his overseas family trust recently reached agreement with SARS and SARB to settle a long-standing dispute between the parties. A specific requirement of this settlement was that Mr King’s family repatriates business assets that have been held overseas into South Africa. All of the King family’s operational business interests are vested in one legal entity- MMG.”

Therefore if King has funded his purchase of shares via a “Family Trust” which is offshore then he is in breach of his Plea Bargain and liable to prosecution and in addition Micromega have lied to the JSE which will incur further penalties.
Lets then work on the assumption that King funded the share purchase from South Africa and work on his statement that he has access to his children’s inheritance to the tune of £30 million which he will invest in Rangers.
The facts are as follows. All South African residents are bound by the Reserve Bank’s Exchange Control Regulations. This includes King. Currently SA residents are limited to transferring ZAR 10 million overseas for the purpose of investing in a business. This amounts to around £500K and should a resident wish to transfer in excess of this amount then Reserve Bank approval needs to be obtained. Obtaining Reserve Bank approval is not impossible but it is a very detailed and intensive requirement motivating the application n detail which has to be done through the applicants current Bankers. In considering such applications the Reserve Bank starting point is loosely based around what benefit does this bring to South Africa. Not what benefit does this bring to the individual so King would have to show the benefit to South Africa in investing in shares in Rangers and investing his kids £30 million inheritance in Rangers. Right now I cant see any benefit for the Country. Lets also consider King’s history with the Reserve Bank. At the time he originally transferred his ill-gotten gains out of South Africa he obtained Exchange Control approval through Nedbank. This caused quite an uproar in South African Banking and Business circles at the time and some would say a very fancy interpretation of Exchange Control rulings was made by Nedbank and a position put forward that we now know was never King’s intentions. A few years later King faced more than 300 criminal charges amongst which was contravention of Exchange Control rulings. All very interesting and one which can only lead you to the conclusion that when looking at any application from King the Reserve Bank will look at it very, very carefully. The other aspect to this is the Plea Bargain where King was ordered to close his offshore accounts and repatriate the balances to South Africa. Why on Earth would the Reserve Bank grant him permission to transfer funds overseas less than 2 years later?
As regards the actual amounts involved its highly improbable that King has £30 million (ZAR 600 million) floating around in a Bank account somewhere in South Africa even if it is supposedly in his children’s name. On the assumption he doesn’t then he would have to raise that money but how would he do that? I guess he could sell half his stake in Micromega but who would buy the shares considering most deals done have been between him and Morris or the likes and South Africa’s Institutional Investors wont touch him. He could borrow it from a Bank but would a Bank lend such a vast amount to someone with his reputation and record? Make up your own mind.
Having given this some thought I am of the opinion that King is not an investor in Rangers and is indeed no more than a front for others who are using his investment history in the Club and his well scripted Rangers man status to further their own interests which are open to speculation and are not necessarily in Rangers interest. What is really interesting here is that a certain James Traynor broke the story about the billionaire Craig Whyte buying Rangers for £30 million and he is the very man leading the propaganda campaign for the current incumbents.

        1. King as a front? Mmm… You are not alone in thinking that way.

  4. THE CULT IN ALL ITS PERVERSIONS OF FAITH, PLEASE PITY THE DAMNED AS THEY ARE FINISHED.

    Roman Catholicism
    Founder: Emperor Constantine

    Overview:
The Roman Catholic church, headquartered in Rome, Italy, has its own powerful City-State, the Vatican. The Roman Catholic church unofficially came into being in 312 A.D., at the time of the so-called “miraculous conversion” to Christianity of the Roman Emperor Constantine but he still worshipped the sun god. Although Christianity was not made the official religion of the Roman Empire until the edicts of Theodosius I in 380 and 381 A.D., Constantine, from 312 A.D. until his death in 337, was engaged in the process of simultaneously building pagan temples and Christian churches, and was slowly turning over the reins of his pagan priesthood to the Bishop of Rome. However, the family of Constantine did not give up the last vestige of his priesthood until after the disintegration of the Roman Empire – that being the title the emperors bore as heads of the pagan priesthood – Pontifex Maximus – a title which the popes would inherit. The popes also inherited Constantine’s titles as the self-appointed civil head of the church – Summus Pontifex (Vicar of Christ and Bishop of Bishops).

Prior to the time of Constantine’s “conversion,” Christians were persecuted not so much for their profession of faith in Christ, but because they would not include pagan deities in their faith as well. Then, with Constantine’s emphasis on making his new-found Christianity palatable to the heathen in the Empire, the “Christianization” of these pagan deities was facilitated. For example, pagan rituals and idols gradually took on Christian meanings and names and were incorporated into “Christian” worship (e.g., “saints” replaced the cult of pagan gods in both worship and as patrons of cities; mother/son statues were renamed Mary and Jesus; etc.), and pagan holidays were reclassified as Christian holy days (e.g., the Roman Lupercalia and the feast of purification of Isis became the Feast of the Nativity; the Saturnalia celebrations were replaced by Christmas celebrations; an ancient festival of the dead was replaced by All Souls Day, rededicated to Christian heroes [now Halloween]; etc.). A transition had occurred – instead of being persecuted for failure to worship pagan deities, Christians who did not agree with the particular orthodoxy backed by the Emperor were now persecuted in the name of Christ! “Christianized” Rome had become the legitimate successor of pagan Rome! This is the sad origin of the Roman Catholic Church as it compromised from the very beginning with paganism and in doing so became a cult serving the creature (Mary) more than the creator (Jesus).

When Rome went from being pagan to Christian under Constantine, they had to find a replacement for the great mother of paganism. It was not until the time of Constantine that anyone began to look at Mary as a goddess. Since Mary was the mother of Jesus Christ, she was the most logical person to replace the pagan mother goddess. The pagans could continue their prayers and devotion to the mother goddess, only they would call her Mary. The pagans worshipped the mother as much or more than her son and this is exactly what the Roman Catholicism does. True Christianity teaches that Jesus Christ is to be worshipped – not his mother. The fact remains that Jesus never hinted at the idea of Mary worship nor did any of the apostles. Worshipping the mother goddess along with her child took place centuries before Jesus Christ was ever born in many different parts of the world. In 431 A.D. Mary worship became an official doctrine of the church in at the Council of Ephesus.

Since the formation of the Roman Empire, the Roman emperors (including Constantine) held the office of Pontifex Maximus (Supreme Priest) and were worshipped by the pagans as gods. Emperor Gratian in 376 A.D. refused the title of Pontifex Maximus, and from then on it was bestowed upon the bishop of Rome. From hereon, the bishop of Rome was to be the Supreme Priest to the pagans and the head of the Christian church; the streams of paganism and Christianity flowed together under the leadership of Pontifex Maximus, ultimately to be called the Pope. The question remains, how can a man at the same time be the Pontifex Maximus which was the head of the pagan mysteries and the head of the church? Although the Roman Catholic church claims that Peter was the first Pope, it is strange that we never read any such claim by Peter. The fact that Jesus never instituted the office of Pope in his church during his earthly ministry plainly shows that the Pope is neither Bishop of bishops nor the successor of the apostle Peter.

One issue that is very damaging to idea of a Pope is the fact that some of the popes were so depraved, even people who professed no religion at all were ashamed of them. Looking into the history of the papacy, it is easy to see that not all popes were holy men. Accusations against them included but were not limited to blasphemy, simony (the buying and selling of the papal office), perjury, murder, adultery, intercourse with virgins and nuns, incest, sodomy, bestiality, robbery, idolatry, magic, infidelity, and gross and unnatural immorality. Historians, even Roman Catholic historians will even attest to the fact there have been many sinful popes. Therefore, if popes are supposed to be the “representatives of Christ” here on earth and they are living an immoral lifestyle, should their commands still be obeyed if they are living in sin? No, it would be hypocritical for them to make rulings and decrees, and yet this is exactly what has been done by the popes. Jesus never said, “do as I say, not as I do”. On the contrary, Jesus Christ led a holy life and we should follow His example. Here are a few examples:

Pope Sergius III obtained the papal office by murder. He lived openly with a woman who bore him several illegitimate children. His reign began a period known as “the rule of the harlots”.

Pope John XII was an immoral man and whose palace was likened to a brothel. The bishop of Cremona, Luitprand said, “No honest lady dared to show herself in public, for Pope John had no respect either for single girls, married women, or widows – they were sure to be defiled by him, even on the tombs of the holy apostles, Peter and Paul.”

Pope Boniface VIII maintained his position through lavish distribution of stolen money. He was quoted saying, “to enjoy oneself and lie carnally with women or with boys is no more a sin than rubbing one’s hands together.”

Pope John XXII was said to have seduced and violated three hundred nuns. He must have had a strong and insatiable libido for he kept a harem of no less than two hundred girls. He was called “the most depraved criminal who ever sat on the papal throne.” A Vatican record says this about him, “His lordship, Pope John, committed perversity with the wife of his brother, incest with holy nuns, intercourse with virgins, adultery with the married, and all sorts of sex crimes… wholly given to sleep and other carnal desires, totally adverse to the life and teaching of Christ… he was publicly called the Devil incarnate.”

Pope Pius II was said to have been the father of many illegitimate children. He spoke openly of the methods he used to seduce women and he encouraged young men to also seduce women and even offered to instruct them in methods of self-indulgence.

Pope Sixtus IV financed his wars by selling church offices to the highest bidders. He used the papacy to enrich himself and his family, for no less than eight cardinals were his nephews, some being given the position of cardinal even as a boy.

Pope Alexander VI won the election of the papacy by bribery. He lived with a woman with whom he had a daughter; whom afterward he committed incest with and produced five children. He also lived in public incest with his two sisters. He conducted a sex orgy in the Vatican in which he had a banquet featuring fifty nude girls who danced and serviced the guests – and even offered prizes to the man who could engage in sexual intercourse the most times.

Martin Luther himself also witnessed that Rome with its popes was anything but a holy city. He was quoted as saying, “No one can imagine what sins and infamous actions are committed in Rome, they must be seen and heard to be believed.” It has been said, “If there be a hell, Rome is built over it.” Having shown just a few examples of the corruption and wickedness that has existed in the lives of the popes; this evidence seriously undermines the belief of “apostolic succession,” the claim that the Roman Catholic church is the one “true” church supposedly claiming to trace a line of pope back to Peter, since Peter himself stressed the importance of holiness. It is important to note that pagan popes can be traced back to Babylon but no Christian popes existed until Constantine in 312 A.D. declared himself to be Pope.

The popes were not the only ones that struggled with sexual misconduct; the clergy were just as guilty. When the doctrine of celibacy began to be taught, many clergy were married men. An edict was established in 315 A.D. that forbade a priest to remarry if his wife were to die. In 386 A.D. another edict came into being, allowing priests to be married but forbidding them to have sexual intercourse with their wives. Although this edict was in effect, a large number of clergy openly took wives and fathered children. Some monasteries and nunneries were known in history to be so bad that they actually had a worse reputation than the brothels. The violations by priests were so bad at one point that even female animals were not allowed on monastery property! Priests were urged to be chaste, and if they failed, at least be careful. With this man-made tradition imposed upon them, it made an already difficult job of the confessional even more difficult. The confessional was where sins had to be confessed specifically and in detail so that the priest could render judgment and offer forgiveness of sins. It is not hard to see that the outcome of girls and women and even boys confessing their moral weaknesses and desires to unmarried priests could readily result in widespread abuse. The Roman Catholic church has been lately rocked by one scandal after another of sexual abuse by priests.

The doctrine of a celibate priesthood that has done more damage than good since its inception. At the beginning of creation, God did not want Adam to be alone and created Eve for him. According to the Bible, it was God’s design for a husband and wife to become one flesh and to cleave to each other, and yet the Roman Catholic church says otherwise. They have another man-made doctrine condemning priests to celibacy, something which God never intended. Bishops (i.e. pastors, priests) according the Bible are supposed the husband of one wife (I Timothy 3:2; Titus 1:6), Roman Catholicism adds to the Bible by placing an undue burden upon the clergy by forbidding them to marry (I Timothy 4:1-3), the Bible calls this a “doctrine of devils!” It is important to note that the priests of pagan Rome were also required to be celibate, and this tradition dates back all the way to Babylon and Semiramis several thousand years before. Even the idea of confessing to a priest came from Babylon. It is from recorded Babylonian confessions that historians have been able to come up with conclusions about the Babylonian concepts of right and wrong. The priests of pagan Rome were called “fathers,” but Jesus said to call no man “father.” (Matthew 23:9-12) From what source did the Roman Catholic custom of calling a priest by this title come from, Jesus or the pagans? Jesus spoke against flattering titles to his disciples, he wanted them to treat each other equally. Jesus meant for God the Father to receive all glory, not men. It is plain to see that the majority of the traditions of the Roman Catholic church are man-made and of pagan origins. An intellectually honest search will show the pagan roots of the Roman Catholic church.

The cardinals were the chief clergy in pagan Rome and the word in Latin means “hinge,” hence they were pivotal serving as the priests of Janus who was the pagan god of doors and hinges. He was known as the “opener and shutter,” and we can understand that better by the words of Jesus in Revelation 3:7-8. Jesus was the true opener, Janus was a counterfeit. These pagan priests wore the color red because it symbolized fire, they were the keepers of the sacred fire and accordingly were known as the “Flamens.” All throughout the Bible, the color red is associated with sin. (Isaiah 1:18; Ezekiel 23:14-15; Revelation 17:4) With some knowledge of history, it is easy to see the merge of Babylonian paganism and Christianity and how they became one.

Roman Catholics who read the Bible will soon discover that many Catholic teachings and practices are specifically forbidden by Jesus Christ Himself. Worship is vain when it is based upon the commandments of men rather than the Word of God. Valid tradition is based upon Scripture and confirms it. Vain tradition is based upon man’s teachings and violates it. In Roman Catholicism, tradition is consistently elevated above the Scripture. The result is vain worship, and no matter how sincere, it makes the commandment of God of no effect – a very serious matter.

The last few popes have expanded the ecumenical (worldwide) emphasis in the Roman Catholic Church to unprecedented heights. All unity purchased at the expense of doctrinal purity is satanic and deceptive. II Corinthians 6:14-18; Ephesians 5:11; II Timothy 3:1-17, 4:1-8. All who join hands in ecumenical fellowship with those who preach a false Gospel are under God’s curse. (Galatians 1:6-10)

People do not realize that counterfeit religions, like counterfeit money, must resemble the genuine in order to deceive those who lack spiritual discernment or those who have not had the opportunity or taken the time to carefully compare all the major tenets of Roman Catholicism with the truth of God’s Word. Only when one compares men’s words with Scripture will it become obvious that Roman Catholicism is a carefully crafted counterfeit, not the pure, genuine, Biblical faith.

Jesus Christ plainly taught that Mary was on the same plane with all other Christians who would do the will of God. In Mark 3:31-35 we read:

“There came then his brethren and his mother, and, standing without, sent unto him, calling him. And the multitude sat about him, and they said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren without seek for thee. And he answered them, saying, Who is my mother, or my brethren? And he looked round about on them which sat about him, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren! For whosoever shall do the will of God, the same is my brother, and my sister, and mother. ”

Do not avoid the truth here on the authority of Jesus Christ, “Whosoever shall do the will of God, the same is my brother, and my sister, and mother.” And when one heard Jesus and cried out, “Blessed is the womb that bare thee, and the paps which thou hast sucked, “Jesus answered, “Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it.” (Luke 11:27-28) There is no hint in the Bible that New Testament Christians ever regarded Mary as more than a good woman. She had no authority among the apostles. No one was taught to pray to her, to do her homage, to adore her, or to partake of the unscriptural worship which Catholics do, but call it by other names.

To deny that Roman Catholicism is a cult is to repudiate the reformation and mock the millions of martyrs who died at Rome’s hands. The “Christ” of Roman Catholicism is just as false as its “Mary.” Remember that a cult according to the Word of God is any group of people that worship anything or anyone other than Jesus Christ, and believe anything contrary to His word as recorded in the Bible. Roman Catholicism is not truly Christian, but is in fact an offshoot of Christianity and the largest and oldest “Christian” cult in the world. In addition, the display of adoration, the gaudy parade of a mere man as if he were a god, the pandering to idolatrous worship through bowing down and kissing his ring, the insistence that he be addressed as “His Holiness the Pope” or “Father” of all Christians cannot but confirm to any Christian that the Roman Catholic church is a cult.

The Scriptures use terms such as “apostasy,” “false teacher,” “false prophet,” “error,” “seducer,” “heretic,” and “doctrines of devils” to describe impure doctrine. The Roman Catholic Church meets every Bible criteria for apostasy, which is a turning away from and rejection of the truth. Its gospel is false, and thus is cursed of God (Galatians 1:8). It has exalted its own man-made traditions to the level of Holy Scripture, and thus worships God in vain (Matthew 15:1-9). Its leaders are false prophets; its dogmas are doctrines of devils; its Papacy is antichrist. What does God say regarding an apostate entity? Does He say we should find positive ways to see that entity? Does He say we should try to find common ground through which we can share and discuss the gospel in love and understanding? No, God says, “Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues!” (Revelation 18:4). We know that the Roman Catholic church has become an expert in taking various ideas or traditions and mixing them together into its system of religion.

The Roman Catholic church always has been and continues to be a false church. The Biblical doctrines it professes to believe and teach are perverted by doctrine based upon tradition that contradicts the Bible, God’s infallible Word. Error is never more deceptive than when it is presented with a mask of truth. The leaders of the Catholic Church have always fit the description of the false teachers who God warned in advance would come on the scene in the last days, deceiving many with their counterfeit words – as described in II Peter 2:1-3, 18, 19.

It is essential to understand that two basic false teachings of Roman Catholicism (even apart from its many other errors), clearly classify it as a false cult rather than a true church. These two basic errors are:

Roman Catholicism, although teaching that the Bible is the Word of God, adds the spurious apocryphal books to the Scriptures, and also elevates church tradition and the edicts of popes and councils (the words of men), to the same or an even greater level of authority than the Word of God. This amounts to adding to the Word of God, thereby placing Roman Catholicism under God’s curse. (Deuteronomy 4:2; Revelation 22:18-19)

Roman Catholicism, although teaching that faith in Jesus Christ is necessary for salvation, actually denies the truth of the Gospel by adding sacraments, good works, and purgatory as additional requirements for forgiveness of sin and for eternal life. This amounts to the preaching of a false Gospel which places the Roman Catholic Church under God’s curse. (Galatians 1:6-10)

Thus, by Scriptural standards, the Roman Catholic Church is a false church and a cult that can only expect God’s judgment, not a true church that can claim God’s blessing. No amount of outward change should be permitted to obscure this fact. Roman Catholicism is nothing more than Babylonian paganism that has been whitewashed and made to appear Christian.

    Cult Beliefs:

They believe purgatory is a place where a person is purified of sins – even popes supposedly go there. The Bible says, when a person dies their eternal home is sealed – heaven or hell – there is no place in between like purgatory. (Hebrews 9:27) The word “purgatory” and its concept is not found in the Bible.

They believe in worshipping images of Mary, crucifix, saints, angels, etc. The Bibles speaks out against this. (Exodus 20:4-5)

They believe in repetitious prayer to Mary, saints and angels. The complete Rosary involves repeating the Hail Mary 53 times, the Lord’s prayer 6 times, 5 Mysteries, 5 Meditations on the Mysteries, 5 Glory Be’s, and the Apostles’ Creed. The Rosary did not come into general use until after the beginning of the thirteenth century, and not officially sanctioned until after the Protestant Reformation in the sixteenth century. The concept of praying to Mary, saints, and angels is not found in the Bible; on the contrary, we are directed to pray to our Father. (Matthew 6:9-13) In the Rosary, Mary is prayed to almost 9 times for every prayer directed to God. The Bible speaks out very clearly against praying in vain repetitions as the heathens do.

In “The Holy Father’s Prayer for the Marian Year [1987],” John Paul II asks Mary to do what only God can do – comfort, guide, strengthen, and protect “the whole of humanity …” His prayer ends: “Sustain us, O Virgin Mary, on our journey of faith and obtain for us the grace of eternal salvation.” (4/97, Berean Call).

In preparing for an expected earthquake in December, 1990, in the Saint Louis area, parishioners at St. Agatha RC church turned to St. Agatha, “the patron saint of protection from the devastation of volcanoes, earthquakes, fire, and all kinds of violence.” The church reported in the St. Louis Southwest City Journal of 10/21/90 that a novena was to be held, including a recitation of the rosary, a prayer to St. Agatha, and a closing benediction. (Reported in the November/December 1990, Foundation.)

A Roman Catholic ritual for selling a home: Put a statue of St. Joseph in a bottle or mason jar and bury it in the front yard (head first), thereby guaranteeing a quick sale of the home. After the sale, the seller is to dig up St. Joseph, put him in a prominent place in the new residence, and pray to him (Mother Angelica, EWTN Catholic TV, 10/95).

Take note in the following two prayers how Mary is magnified above Jesus…

Hail Mary full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen. Why is Mary being prayed to this way, is she God? The Bible never directs us to pray to Mary.

“Hail, holy Queen, Mother of Mercy! Our life, our sweetness and our hope! To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve. To thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping, in this valley of tears. Turn, then, most gracious Advocate, thine eyes of mercy toward us; and after this our exile show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus. O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary.” Roman Catholicism should be renamed “Mary Worship”, because that is really what it is; it places her on a high pedestal, equal with God. Mary was the mother of Jesus, nothing more, and she is not the advocate as mentioned in the Bible. (I John 2:1)

They forbid their priests marry, when God specifically set up marriage for all, even priests. (I Timothy 3:2) To impose the burden of celibacy upon a priest is to put a man-made burden that is not necessary on them and not mandated by God, it is a clear case of putting human tradition ahead of the Bible. Many Roman Catholics believe that Peter was not married, the Bible says otherwise. (Matthew 8:14-15; Mark 1:30-31; Luke 4:38-39) It is interesting to note that priests of pagan Rome were also made to take a vow of celibacy as were the priests of Babylon.

They believe one way of attaining salvation from the punishment of one’s sins is through indulgences, which can be purchased with money or through acts of penitence, acts of charity, or other pietistic means. The idea of indulgences is based on good works meriting God’s grace. Since they believe Christ’s sacrifice was insufficient for the full payment of the penalty of sin, acts of piety and gifts to the Roman Catholic church may be used as partial payment for one’s sins. The adequacy of an indulgence depends upon the merit attributed to it by the Roman Catholic church. The Bible says we are saved by faith and nothing else! Once you die, it’s judgment time! (Ephesians 2:8-9, Hebrews 9:27)

They believe in confessing one’s sins to a priest. Jesus is the only mediator we need; we do not need the pope, priests, Mary or the saints. (Matthew 6:9, 12; I John 1:9, 2:1; I Timothy 2:5)

They believe it is necessary for salvation to partake in the Sacrament of the Eucharist (communion). They believe they actually eat and drink the body and blood of Christ through a process called transubstantiation, whereby a priest prays over the wafer and wine and it is supernaturally turned into Christ’s body. They will quote scripture (John 6:53-58; Matthew 26:26-28) out of context to support their viewpoint. Jesus was alive when the last supper took place and by interpreting this scripture literally instead of figuratively (symbolizing his body and blood), it creates numerous problems. Jesus referred to himself as a “door,” “vine,” and “rock” and these descriptions are recognized as figurative. (John 10:9, 15:5; I Corinthians 10:4) Therefore Jesus is crucified afresh everyday by priests all over the world, who are putting him to open shame. The Bible says that Jesus was physically offered up once (died for our sins), never to be repeated again. (Hebrews 9:1-28, 10:12-18) He sits on the right hand of God and does not reappear in the Mass as a mass of blood and flesh. It is very important to note that Jesus told us to take the bread (which symbolized his body) and wine (which symbolized his blood); but he did so while he was here on earth and alive. Roman Catholicism makes Jesus and his disciples into cannibals, because he and his disciples were eating his body that was alive. (I Corinthians 11:23-26)

They believe there are oral traditions and teachings by Jesus that are not mentioned in the Bible; furthermore, the Roman Catholic religion has somehow been able to get this spoken word from somewhere, we’re just not told how it was done. This means whoever sits on the papal chair in Rome is considered more authoritative than the Bible itself. (Matthew 15:3,6-7; Mark 7:5-9,13) The cry of the Reformation was sola scriptura – the insistence that the Bible alone is the ultimate authority for all believers. The Holy Spirit’s enlightenment is a safeguard against religious tyranny.

They believe that Mary never had anymore children after giving birth to Jesus and that she remained a perpetual virgin until she died. Why are we to believe that Joseph and Mary never had sexual intercourse? What husband and wife live and die together without consummating their marriage? These are speculative questions, but is is obvious Mary could not have remained a virgin if she had other children as recorded in the Bible. (Matthew 13:55-56; Mark 6:3).

They believe that the church is founded upon the apostle Peter, that he was the first pope. The true Church of Jesus Christ was not founded upon Peter, but upon Peter’s confession of Christ’s deity as recorded in Matthew 16:16: “…Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.” The Bible says that Jesus is the foundation of the church. (Matthew 21:42; I Corinthians 3:11) Peter was not the first pope, nor is there any Biblical justification whatever for such an office. Peter’s own inspired testimony as to his position and ministry is given in I Peter 5:1-4. He then identifies himself in II Peter 1:1 as “a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ….” Peter was a man like you and me. When Cornelius tried to worship Peter, Peter responded, “Stand up; I myself also am a man.” (Acts 10:25-26). The pope needs to remember this when men are bowing to him and kissing his hand like he is worthy of worship. Furthermore, history confirms the fact that there were no popes in the early church, not even in the Roman Catholic church during the first centuries of its existence.

They believe the pope is the Holy Father, a title only given to God. The pope is a man who takes upon himself honor which belongs to no human being. Even the very name by which he allows himself to be called (Holy Father) is highly presumptuous and blasphemous. (John 17:11)

They pray to and worship Mary – an 1854 papal decree (Pope Pius IX) on the Immaculate Conception of Mary that has never been revoked, states, “Let all the children of the Catholic Church … continue to venerate, invoke, and pray to the most blessed Virgin Mary, mother of God, conceived without original sin.” Praying to Mary is something that is not spoken of in the Bible and would make her an equal with God, thus she has become a deity to Roman Catholics. Mary, according to the Roman Catholics has become the queen of heaven. When the queen of heaven is referred to in the Bible, she is spoken of negatively. (Jeremiah 7:17-19) Mary needed a savior as much as anyone else and acknowledged this in Luke 1:47.

They believe that Mary is a co-redeemer with Jesus. In 1923, Pope Pius XI sanctioned Pope Benedict XV’s (1914-1922) pronouncement that Mary suffered with Christ, and that with Him, she redeemed the human race. Pope Pius XI officially designated Mary the “Queen of Heaven” and “Queen of the World.” The Bible specifically states that Jesus is the only way to get to heaven. Nowhere in the Bible does it state that Mary is a co-redeemer. (John 14:6) God speaks out very clearly against the “Queen of Heaven”. (Jeremiah 7:17-19)

They believe a baby can be “born again” through baptism by sprinkling, furthermore, they believe that baptism is necessary for salvation. The issue of infant baptism is not mentioned in the Bible, nor does it mention anything about babies and salvation. We are all born with sin and that alone disqualifies us from getting to heaven. (Romans 3:23) The act of baptism in the Bible does not guarantee you a place in heaven or make you born again, rather it is an outward act of obedience to God after you have been saved.

They believe that Jesus merely made the way open for salvation. In order to enter into that salvation, one must live in obedience to the authority of the papacy. In addition, Jesus’ provision for salvation not being complete, the Roman Catholic church offers other means to assure one’s salvation. The Roman Catholic church says it alone can grant this essential blessing for full salvation. This supersedes the Bible in which God guarantees our salvation. (John 10:27-29; Romans 10:9-17) Going to church doesn’t make you a Christian any more than going to a garage makes you a mechanic.

They believe that we are saved in part by good works and that good works are necessary for salvation. The Bible says we are saved by grace through faith, not works. Good works come as a result of being saved. (Romans 3:24-28; Ephesians 2:8-9)

They believe there are different levels of sin; mortal (deadly) sins in which you are in danger of losing your salvation and venial (minor) sins which are not as serious. Mankind has placed different distinctions on sin (i.e. someone caught lying is not punished as severely as a person who is a murderer). However, in God’s eyes, sin is sin, there is no distinction. (Romans 3:23)

Roman Catholicism makes salvation a long, complicated process with no assurance of eternal life and forgiveness of all sin. Baptism, Mass, Confession, prayers to Mary and the Saints, good works, and purgatory are all added to faith in Christ. By contrast, the Bible teaches salvation by faith in Jesus Christ alone. Bible salvation is God’s free gift to any sinner who believes that Christ died for their sins and rose again for their defense. Bible salvation gives immediate assurance of eternal life. No church ever saved anyone, but Christ can and will save everyone who will come and trust Him as their Saviour. Membership or faith in a church does not secure salvation for anyone, but trust Christ and Him alone and you will be saved for all eternity!

I have no problems with us cutting our cloth accordingly, I wish we did it 3 years ago to be honest.

What I find appalling is the timing of such a ridiculous comment at a time when we don’t have ten quid to spare never mind ten million ….and when we are trying to build a team for the new season with free agent journey men and anyone else we can recruit.

I really cant see at any point in the past few years or looking forward for the next few where players of that calibre would ever be a consideration….what a fuckin ridiculous comment to make at a time when asking fans to fork out big time for season tickets etc …..the lunatics really have taken over the asylum if that’s the standard of leadership we have to look forward to …..god help us!!!!

      1. JJ ..

You are correct in your assertions re SDM, in fact I’d go as far as to say you’re bang on the money.

Now, having said that I shall suggest something to you that I noticed in your comment.

You stated that I was right and maybe you weren’t perhaps the correct person to ask and that you’re not easily persuaded by conspiracy theories.

Ok, if that’s what you say then can you explain a number of your posts then please?

The reason I ask is simply because I do believe there’s been a conspiracy at Rangers over the last 7-8 years.

In fact I’d go as far as saying that the post you write actually suggests that you believe that also. You actually hint at one re SDM and Whyte.

Just intrigued JJ, Bill and I have been hearing stories this week concerning lots of happenings re oldco and perhaps some of them may be blogged, but we shall see.

Apologies for the interrogation, but I actually laughed at the end of that post, simply because of the content of it, then the fact that in the last paragraph you contradict youself when speaking of conspiracies.

I think you know fine well there’s been a major conspiracy JJ …

    2. To be fair this story is too important to just discount cos it is Multi Names.

      1. That’s what it is —- A STORY, A FABLE, A TALE, A YARN, and the answer to soapysoutar,s question is —YES IT IS

        1. Look forward to hearing your evidence

      2. point taken Bill.

      3. I sent a tweet to Keith Jackson in regard to Preposterous Phil’s latest assertion. He initially ignored my tweet ( who am I to approach an award winning journalist?) but when it was re-tweeted by others with an unhealthy obsession about our club and this site, he dismissed the allegations having no doubt had a chat with Traynor.

In my response to an interesting article submitted by FifthLevelThinking, I highlighted my aversion to conspiracy theories. However, there are elements about this story that are persuasive. I would not be surprised if King requested this meeting. I would not be surprised if he asked Ashley for a ceasefire on the £5M debt. If this meeting occurred, I would have no doubt whatsoever that King would ask for the second tranche of £5M. The hostile takeover was so underfunded that some severe austerity measures will soon be forthcoming.

On the balance of probability, King would request a meeting with Ashley and raise these points. The EGM day was as good as any. Missing the EGM was surprising, but this could be being spun by Traynor & Kerr as King acting in a statesmanlike fashion and leaked to a couple of their square mile sources.

Even though the meeting was supposed to be secret, why let a good opportunity pass to elevate King?

Preposterous Phil picked up on this leak on his post prior to this one. Would King attempt to sell his equity to Ashley? Of course he would. The LSE AIM and ISDX debacles have rendered his 11.52% virtually worthless and if, as many of us believe, King borrowed money to acquire his shares, what better way to offset your exposure than by selling your equity for what was paid for it.

King would still remain chairman and his interim BDO offer of £1.2M – £1.4M, which some are persuaded is the security for the £2.5M loan, would be debt free.

King would always act in his own best interests.

We have a binary decision to make. We either accept the information as it’s consistent with what we have come to expect from our duplicitous and mendacious chairman; or we dismiss it as a carefully crafted hoax by Preposterous Phil.

    1. fifthlevelthinking ..
That blog has been put up on here a few times, some of us were aware of it a very long time ago, it would be interesting to have JJ’s thoughts on it but in truth you’re probably asking the wrong person.

  7. I see the rancid Three Name blogger has a good one out stating “Dave King offered his shares to Ashley at meeting on June 12th……not sure from who or where this has come from but it does pose a great conundrum in it when he states

King also did not want Ashley to exercise his security on the assets secured against the January loan.
He also wanted the second tranche of £5m.
King wanted to explore the possibility of more loan players coming from Newcastle United FC for the new season

Can’t say i disagree with much of that – brainbox Richard was, and has stayed, polarised in this debate.

      SS

    2. Gordo,
Everybody and their granny are urging the fans to buy their season books as soon as possible, because there is no other funding plan! The co- investors as we are now called, are being asked to provide the funds to help keep the club running. I have no problem with that, as this is how it should be,and indeed has been for many a year. The difference now is those making up the present board are pleading for us all to co-invest after THEY chased away thousands of co-investors, as well as a billionaire businessman and financial backer to the club in their quest for a fuckin blazer. I wish Warburton and Weir every success but I feel they will be hampered in their jobs by the clique that still inhabits the club.
Why are Durrant,Durie,Stewart etc. still employed by Rangers?
The club needs cleansed more than ever!!
      Where,s your money Mr. King???

    3. Gordo : Gough in his sun column wrote the following :

” Richard Gough, the club’s nine-in-a-row captain, urging Rangers fans to stage a season-ticket BOYCOTT. It was a tough decision for the Ibrox legend, one which required some serious soul-searching before he agreed to speak out. But after listening to Dave King’s vision for the club, Gough felt he had to make a stance to help oust the previous regime. Twelve months on, he is adamant it was the right call as he urged fans to back King this summer. Speaking in his SUN column Richard Gough Sun column Gough said: “I remember it clearly because I was up visiting my son at college when I got a call from Dave.

“Things had come to a bit of a standstill and he asked me to help in terms of supporters NOT buying season tickets. I thought that was difficult, not great. No matter who is in charge, Rangers fans had always bought season-ticket books to support their team and wouldn’t want to give them up. I said to Dave there were people who’d been sitting in the same seats for years and they might not get them back. But he said, ‘Richard, we are not going to get them out unless we do this’. ”

Do you or anyone else think the authorities will have a look at this as this to me is a clear attempt at destabilising the club and it’s holding company to drive down the share price ?

It obviously did the trick as King got his shares at a knock down price but will he be taken to task and Gough used as part of the evidence against him ? I agree, what Gough did, how he did it and now admitting his guilt in said actions of driving down share prices with Glib & Shameless co and acting to the detriment of Rangers FC by their actions should indeed be investigated…..but as has been seen and highlighted many times the SFA/SPFL authorities are gutless and do NOT work for the best interests of their member clubs. But who will task them and hold them to account and demand explanations for some of the disgusting decisions they have made recently?

Anyone with one single functioning brain cell can tell that Glib & Shameless co are NOT fit OR proper and NOT director material because of past financial regularities ….oh and the somewhat forgotten fact…they were ALL involved in our original demise….FFS it isn’t that long ago that people should forget these things….. and it should be demanded of the authorities to give answers as to how this lot are fit and proper….fit and proper my arse….but like everything else around SFA/Rangers…its all a pile of steaming crap with a stink to match.

      1. TBH Mr Gough can you please come clean with this fine Blog and confirm the last time you “bought” a full season ticket ?? I am not singling you out or questioning your Loyalty to our beloved club, I am merely asking you as someone who expects us mere fans to stump up a fortune in our terms to your own commitment ??? No offence Richard as you are one of my heroes but I am sick of people who put their voice/reputation before their cash and expect us with little cash and no voice to bankroll the whole bandwagon, sorry King Richard we are n longer the Lemmings we are wakening up. 11. Guys
Like any manager going into a new club there will be trepidation from the fans along with a hope that they can turn the fortunes of the team round. Like anyone else, Warburton & Weir deserve a chance to see if they can do something that should have been done years ago and that is…use one of the finest training complexes North on Manchester to its full potential while mixing and matching experience to ensure young talent is nurtured and developed…not used, abused and dropped like a stone, as was Charlie Dimmock’s way.

Youths by their very nature are up and down and form comes in spells….which is where good managers and coaches come in, utilising them when they are hot, resting and encouraging them when they are not….but always explaining why they are in or out and what they need to do to impress and get back in the first team. Whether W&W are those kind of coaches/managers only time will tell and then things may well improve, but these types of coaches are not usually out of work or short of admirers. Many people have watched far more closely than I did what they did at Brentford, I did see them play Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough and didn’t see them as a top 5 side….too often too much with little outcome was what I remembered thinking at the time, but it may have simply been a work in progress…we will never know.

What I do know is that Davie Weir didn’t do too well over at Sheffield Utd much to the liking of the Wednesday lot I know….but again it was a tough place to manage and were very demanding….now how does that ring a bell with me??? So whether they will be the new messiah’s or not only time will tell, but I did find it worrying that our old managers were chipping in with their two pence about helping them be great….yes Walter just like you did with fat arse Charlie Dimmock!!!! I agree with what JJ says about things being less than plain sailing this season, we are two divisions higher with a squad of 10 players and its almost July so unless there is a revolving door of free agents riding in soon….we will struggle more than many can imagine so please don assume because we missed out on promotion last season we will be guaranteed to go up this time round!!!!

I, as of yet, am unsure where the funding is coming from, my guess is Season Ticket money initially and then PANIC when numbers don’t tally up….or perhaps Dave will pony up with a few million to tide us over….as a loan of course….I mean lets face it, we only do loans and supports cash….isn’t that the way forward? Still no funding announcements, well with any meat on the bones, about short-medium and long term prospects and future investment. As JJ said in one of his replies…we will not attract any serious investor with our credit history…FFS Wonga wont even loan us any cash that’s how bad we are. When you don’t pay your debts, like our new board seem to do, then investment becomes either insular or non existent. Insular investment would mean from fans and rich people with a vested interest in the club….which is the only avenue I see open to RIFC at present. Those money making schemes and scams you have read about and laughed at will soon be coming your way…..so buy up buy up and keep King and the Gummy bears in power with the new shares and debenture schemes that will become more prominent in their future plans. How often can they rape the fans and screw more money, many don’t actually have, out of them? The well will run dry if this is their only plan….I await the numbers around ST renewals and new purchases in the next couple of weeks.

For months now we have been waiting for Ashley/SD to bare their teeth and bring these rebels to heel….but yet again its all a bit of a wet fart from our Billionaire investor. Not sure if this is because he has been out thought, out manoeuvred or is just plainly not in the same league as the shysters now controlling the club or what….but as Bill has said many times…”Ashley’s tanks are surrounding Ibrox” ….my guess is they have no fuel or ammo to finish the job and will slowly but surely fade away……having never fired a shot in anger. Perhaps I will be proved miles wrong and wide of the mark, but from where I am sitting a lying crooked fraudster has out thought and made a mega billionaire business man ….look less than ordinary. He has done NOTHING to make me, who has always been on his side, believe that he can do anything to change things….so we are where we are and we have who we have….either accept them or don’t….but we do not have a knight in shining armour waiting to jump in and save us…we had our shot and blew it….but so did Ashley.

Tick tock, Tick tock….something we used to say quite a lot when things were unsure and unstable….but the clock isn’t ticking now, things can happen in timescales the shysters see fit and no one can do a damned thing about it….the turkeys have voted for Christmas and the clowns are running the circus. I see nothing good in any of this and see nothing but heartache and grief for years to come. Any change will be at a snails pace….because when your skint…that’s how it works, you cant fast track things by paying when you don’t have anything to pay with. Developing good youths is a 5yr plan minimum….and that seems to be what people are hoping for, so even if things go according to plan…..it will be 5yrs before we do not have to go to market every window and before our youth development starts producing….can anyone wait that long? We are already 4yrs behind where we should be….the clock isn’t ticking…it has stopped!!!!

    1. Gordo

My thanks to you for yet another excellent post. When Paul Murray, as interim chairman, stated it would take seven years to restore Rangers to the pinnacle of Scottish football, many of us realised that he was speaking the truth. It was an unpalatable truth and not one to elicit a critical mass queuing up to purchase 45,000 season tickets.

I have already dealt with the spin in regard to Warburton. Fulham had no intention whatsoever of appointing W&W. This story was created by Traynor & Kerr to give the impression that Warburton was a man who had so impressed his English Championship peers that we were fortunate to land him. However, Warburton, who knew this season would be his last at Brentford, did not have a club lined up until Traynor & Kerr were instructed to create the myth of a short list of five candidates.
There was only one candidate. As soon as Aberdeen put a £2M price tag on their manager, the broke new board had one option.

The new underfunded board had to cut the player payroll in half, so they spun it as being the price of failure. Having engaged in this artifice, they could not possibly appoint McCall as surely he must be a part of this failure?

We now find that Warburton has made his second signing. Someone, like Kiernan, who was at Watford when Warburton was training the under 10s in 2008. Within a year Eustace was sent on loan to Hereford United, prior to his transfer to Stoke City, where he also failed to make the grade prior to another series of loan spells. He failed to make the grade at Dundee United.

Keith Jackson, under instructions from Traynor, stated in a tweet “Although he’s almost 36 and a bit of a journeyman i think he’d be a very decent signing for Rangers. Better than what they’ve got for sure.”

So this is our new captain. A man who will be 36 on November 3.

I’m underwhelmed by the appointment of Warburton & Weir, but I’m pragmatic enough to recognise that they were the only options left to this shyster board.
King stated, categorically and unequivocally, that we would over-invest to create a nucleus of players good enough to not only gain promotion, but compete in the Scottish Permiership next season. King stated that we were building for the future.

I stated that they could only afford out of contract players. The fee for a player who had failed his medical was unlikely to be the £200,000 spun by Traynor & Kerr. The fee for Eustace, who was thinking about hanging up his boots, will probably be less than this inflated figure.

By all means disagree with me, Alan and David, but what I’m seeing here is a guy who is lucky to be in the job hiring players that he once watched from his lowly position of no influence at Watford in 2008.

Gordo is correct. It will take five years to develop a team of youngsters. A spine of experience should be deployed to help blood the youth players.

David Weir was an exceptional player, who read the game well and looked after himself. He was not subject to a series of loans. However Traynor & Kerr would have us believe that Eustace, our captain elect, is as good as Weir.

Traynor & King must be having the time of their life. They are being paid handsomely for applying lipstick to Warbuton’s bottom of the barrel signings.

So much for the King/Murray/Gilligan revolution. So much for war chests, soft investment and the end of austerity.

They were all lies. But then what did you expect from King? The truth? The truth to King was telling the analysts that he was not dumping his stock at Specialist Outsourcing. As far as King was concerned it was his trust fund. Did you expect the truth at his bail hearing after he and Greg Morris had been arrested and locked up on racketeering charges?

Murray spoke the truth. Seven years. Year one looks likely to be the most difficult.

  13. Anyone tempted to read the latest Level 5 spin on Mr Warburton’s trip to the Czech Republic, as per Keith Jackson’s article in The Daily Record, should acquaint themselves to an interview granted by our new manager to The London Evening Standard. Mr Warburton clearly stated that he is participating in a course to gain his UEFA coaching badges and will take in a few games as part of this course. When he gave this interview a few weeks ago he was awaiting word on Rangers and had no other options, despite Level 5 spinning interest from Burnley & Fulham.

He is not looking at the cream of European U21 players for prospective acquisition by Rangers. He is merely fulfilling a prior engagement.

Every time you read a piece by Keith Jackson. Gary Ralston or Mark Guidi, think carefully about what Traynor and Kerr are being paid handsomely to promote – namely Dave King – and to exacerbate matters we, the co-investors, are paying for this spin.

Mr Warburton is going to have a difficult time if he actually attempts to buy a new player. Would you, as a selling club chairman, trust a club to pay in tranches when it cannot raise £5M, and steadfastly refuses, to pay its debts to the owner of NUFC? I would suggest that all transfer activity, other than out of contract players, would only be considered with cash in advance.

I look forward to how Level 5 will spin that.

  14. The amateurs at the SFA have decided to reject Mike Ashley’s appeal. While the criminal King was going out of his way to force the club into administration, Ashley stepped forward to save our club. To minimise his exposure, Ashley decided to nominate Derek Llambias as CEO. This nomination was accepted by a majority of shareholders at our AGM. Apparently, Llambias in his two month tenure as CEO, had undue influence.

Allow me to edify the amateurs as they fill in their petrol receipts on their expenses spreadsheets. Llambias secured a £10M facility to stop the club going under in February. This ‘undue’ influence has warranted a fine of £1,000.

So to summarize, the SFA are saying how dare you save the club and nominate a man with experience to run the club. We prefer a man with 41 convictions for tax evasion, and 287 outstanding charges for fraud, share manipulation, money laundering and racketeering. A man who was imprisoned with his fellow fake accountant Greg Morris on the latter of these charges.

I draw the disciplinary committee’s attention to the fact King does not have any money to invest in Rangers. Even if he managed to hide a few thousand away in a cave bought in his mother’s name in the Antilles Islands, he will not spend one rand in Rangers.

Meanwhile, back at Level 5, Traynor & Kerr, who coined the term co-investors, are busy working on King’s next piece of financial artifice. King is looking for some ‘soft investment’ from his co-investors. Shifting the 41M shares that were approved at the AGM is problematic. The resignation of Deloitte and our nominated adviser, and not forgetting our criminal chairman, do not stand Rangers in good stead in the square mile.

So what will Traynor & Kerr come up with? Here is an idea – Rangers bonds. You spend £1,000 to enter the draw with a prizewinner every month winning a VIP corporate matchday experience for two. I’m sure those already benefiting from the club’s largesse at Rangers First and the RST will advocate whatever King, Traynor & Kerr come up with. Rangers very own Spin Triumvirate.

I note that their spin was in overdrive with the appointment of Warburton. Apparently our new manager was sacked because he would not embrace the mathematical models of the Brentford owner. The team that he inherited was built by Uwe Rossler with £90M invested by the owner. In regard to his observing the training regimen of other clubs, he chose Dutch side Willem II. However Traynor & Kerr would have us believe that we have unearthed a rare managerial genius. As with everything King attempts to sell us, caveat emptor should be our bywords.

If the transfer of Kiernan is typical of Warburton’s acquisitions, next season is going to be much more difficult than anyone, even those of us who kept faithful to the journey, could ever imagine. As our constant gardener discovered, you have to pay players over the odds to tempt them to play in The Scottish Championship.

If King, Traynor & Kerr cannot find the soft investment, we could have Alex Ferguson assisted by Walter Smith in the dugout and not be guaranteed promotion.

We have ten players and a new signing who failed a medical. Is it just me, or are others more apprehensive than excited by the new season.

    1. JJ,

No, you don’t understand, our new signing didn’t fail a medical at Birmingham City FC……the Level 5 sponsored The Daily Record said so !

You’ll have to do better [/sarc]

    2. JJ
Skip past the kingco matters, and I see you’re already dismissing Mark Warburton.
Can you post a link to this £90 million you say was invested in the Uwe Rosler team ?
I had a quick look myself and only found a £46 million investment up until June 2014 since Matthew Benham(owner) had an agreement from 2009.This began initially with £1 million invested every season in return for preference shares which culminated in his 100% takeover. They are building a new stadium also which will incur more millions but don’t know where your figure comes from. The figure I have posted which is approx half of yours takes in the first 6 months after Rosler left. The only transferred players in this period were 2 loans and 2 undisclosed fees.
You seem to imply that Rosler had left Warburton this multi million squad and that he in some way didn’t get a reaction from them. When in fact he managed a promotion on practically no cash spent.
Please could you just give the guy a chance rather than tar him on the assumption he’s a Kingco stooge as time will ultimately tell anyway !

      1. To be fair, David, you are making assumptions of your own here.

      2. My assumptions are made on what JJ believes, Bill .
I didn’t do the character assassination on MW, based on what ? The guy deserves a chance before anyone makes a judgement. It (in my opinion) seems to be a tad unfair a new manager gets roped into Kingcos devious masterplan with no evidence to back it up other than an assumption of guilt by association.

        1. Not sure there was a character assassination. Not everybody thinks Warburton is ideal.

      3. Okay Bill, maybe a smidgen overstated but feel free to detail any part other than negative vibes. We can’t always get our ideal choice of manager and if he fails to deliver, so be it,appoint the next !
The fact the man has been chosen by Kingco shouldn’t turn people against him on that basis alone.Football should determine whether he merits the position not so called spin in the msm !

    3. JJ; I always love your posts mate but I disagree on your Warburton analysis and I intend to give him a chance and I hope you will reconsider and maybe take a harder look .

      Regardless of him possibly getting Brentford promoted to the premier he was losing the job anyway and I found this older article interesting and it shows his desire to succeed ;

      http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/brentford/10712963/Brentford-reap-dividend-in-League-One-as-former-City-boy-Mark-Warburton-strikes-it-rich.html

You also mention his visit to Willem II but that is being rather disingenuous as he did also take in Barcelona , Ajax , Valencia and Sporting Lisbon ! Even if it was just the Dutch club surely that’s better than sending coaches to Blackburn Rovers as was done before his arrival, as I am unsure what could be learned there, as I believe even if it was only Willem II surely the technique and training would be superior to a poor Blackburn Rovers !

Was he also not the co founder of a very good youth league the Next Gen series that had Liverpool , Barcelona , Dortmund , Milan etc etc all sign up to before UEFA stole the show as they usually do and set up the European youth League ! So to me again it shows the man as forward thinker and gives me a wee bit of hope.

Don’t get me wrong I still feel it’s a move King had to make, as it takes the usual fanboys along with many others eye of the real problem’s at the club ! To an extent it is working as many more are talking football now than were previously. So it is a pretty shrewd move by King but again things will settle down and one thing people will notice is debt rising and no investment from King , so it is a clever distraction but it will only last so long.

  15. Hi Gordo.

I will not be renewing my (co-investors ) season ticket till I see what Dave is putting in to OUR club. Which probably means I will not be renewing.

It is a sad time that people like your self and me have came to this .

Never lose your pride and faith in being a Rangers supporter, you were one before all this shit happened, you always will be.

I was out tonight for a few pints at my local, the conversation started about rangers latest ( signing ,subject to medical) ‘ it then turned to how much we will be able to spend on players

I asked the guys if they would go and get a season ticket now that the King Had Returned, their answer was , we, will and see, but we don’t trust Ashley. This is where we are

Gordo a great post , keep them coming ,

We are all pissed of mate.

    1. A valid point. Kingco have so demonised Ashley that people fear he will put club under. Hardly an incentive to get ST.

  16. Given the way we as a club were shamed by all in the immediate aftermath of going into administration because the paper bill hadn’t been paid, nor the face painter, sandwich shop etc piled upon the money owed to Dunfermline, Dundee Utd and the Celtic stance of wanting paid up front for SC tickets, Iam absolutely horrified that a Rangers board would renege on repaying a loan called in because the T&C’s of the loan had been breached.

As a Rangers fan of over 35 years I indentify strongly with the traditions on which our Club was founded. Integrity, honesty, advancement through endeavour and on merit. Now it seems that the foundation of our Club is to be cast aside inorder to further the aims of shysters.

I note , as with the EGM which alloed King in, that a significant minority (circa 22%) had not voted. I assume that this is a tactical manoeuvre from MASH and those supporting MASH.

I am further concerned that audited accounts have yet to be submitted as failure to do so would preclude us from European competition for 3 years.

    1. MM,

Rangers were shamed by Scottish Football by demoting the club when an appeal process on EBTs was still to be decided (and still is, in full).
Rangers were shamed by an individual that HMRC and the SFA knew had no money but then he was allowed to not pay NI contributions, etc.

      http://www.rangers.co.uk/news/headlines/item/9482-general-meeting-voting
      http://www.iii.co.uk/research/LSE:RFC/news/item/1407741/result-gm?context=LSE:RFC
For the March EGM ~33% of shareholders didn’t vote.
In June, as you say, ~22% didn’t vote.
So, more voted in June and the results were closer.
Not sure if Ashley didn’t vote in either.

The Shysters in our club at the moment are Park and Taylor (Letham ?) as they are willing to have a convicted criminal as our Chairman – because he is a Rangers man (stop laughing at the back there !) – and his stance of playing funny buggers is to the detriment of the club as a whole.

When are the audited accounts due ?

    2. SS

In regard to my post on the ‘Failure to Engage’ thread, you inquired why Rangers need to find £4.5M to break even. We lost £8M last year, we have now reduced our player payroll by £3.5M, hence my conclusion.

You make a number of interesting points in regard to the options open to Ashley. Waiting for an administration event is the least likely. If King were to call in the receivers, he would cede control to a third party. The advantage of calling in an administrator is that he would act in the best interests of the club, and not the creditor. An example of this approach was Whyte’s appointment of Duff & Phelps as he knew that HMRC were planning to appoint receivers. Whyte argued successfully for his administrators. HMRC voted against the CVA and Whyte lost control. It’s a tactic of last resort.

If cutting costs is required, King will close down Auchenhowie.
King would prefer our sports academy to be renamed The Dave King Academy and its costs pared to the bone, but he will close it down if the costs to maintain it are too high.

Your first point, that it was not strictly a default, is persuasive. The resolution was not passed, therefore the ten day notice period as per the letter of 29 April, would not be invoked. However if you recall the action by Imran Ahmed, Charles Green’s ‘colourful’ colleague, you can envisage a parallel where a contract was not being honoured.

It’s important to dispel the notion that the current arrangement at Rangers Retail is not equitable. This is a flimsy excuse for being unable to pay your debts. The arrangement, prior to the loan, was a 51% share of profits and dividends at no cost to Rangers. The outlets at Glasgow Airport and Belfast were losing money and were closed down. Orders were placed to stock these outlets, against the advice of Sports Direct, who added the condition that if the stock was not sold, then the club would be liable.

I believe written notice to repay the loan was issued at the initial meeting at SD.
There will be no instalment plan. The club are in default. Which, in my reading of the situation, was SD’s initial strategy. As long as the club owe you money, then you have leverage. Ashley and the executives in Sports Direct have no confidence in a board of lightweights like Murray & Gilligan, and criminals like King. They know that there is no business plan. Murray promised a 120 day review, but has spent the majority of this time fighting fires and begging for handouts from, what we were promised, were a queue of well-heeled Rangers fans waiting for King to take control prior to opening their chequebooks. This was one of numerous lies told by King and Murray.

The most recent lie was that W&W would be given the money to over-invest in the playing squad to not only win the Championship, but be in a position to challenge for the Premiership title next season. If King could pay the £5M, some of us might actually believe him. I count myself out from that number. If King said good morning, I would check my watch. Yesterday we signed our first player for a minimal undisclosed sum. A player that Wigan did not want. A player that had been loaned to Birmingham for two seasons, and only made 12 appearances, which is 7 more than his spell at Kilmarnock in 2010. Keith Jackson, describes him as being a journeyman.
Given that he failed his medical, I’m sure Wigan were easy to deal with but it does not bode well that he is the calibre of player that Warburton chose as his first signing.
I stand by my prediction that most of the new recruits will be out of contract players.

I understand’s Gordo’s frustration. His decision to rip up his renewal form is justified.
The coming season will be considerably more difficult than the last one. W&W have three weeks to put a team on the park for a Petrofac Cup tie. The have eleven players in the first team squad. King’s decision not to renew any of the eleven contracts was spun as courageous.

It was a money saving exercise from an individual who was at pains to point out that we did not have to cut costs if he took control. He then cuts the player payroll by 50%
Our club’s two former employees, Jim Traynor and Stephen Kerr (aka Level 5) are worth every penny. Rather than have them in the tent pissing out, we have hired a marquee for them at great expense. I foresee messrs Traynor & Kerr turning over a seven figure sum in their one and only account.

      1. JJ,

        Noted regards the £4.5m.

    2. SS

Could someone please explain what Murray’s role will be going forward? He was interim chairman, and now appears to be some form of de facto vice-chairman, who assumes leadership of the club in the absence of King.

FTBR called for strong leadership. We have Paul Murray. We won’t be seeing much more of King as the less his name is associated with Rangers the higher our chances of an ISDX listing. The emphasis of matter material uncertainty in the 6 month accounts will undermine any application. There are 41 Million shares looking for a new home, which could raise circa £8.2M if fully subscribed. If the season tickets sales do not generate the £12M/£13M as per Murray’s pitch at NARSA, the listing will be plan B. The appointment of two new directors could be perceived as adding gravitas to an incompetent current board.

There will be no provision to repay Ashley’s loan. What I find barely credible is that a majority of our shareholders voted to renege on a valid, legally enforceable debt. Anything that King says, goes.

Now it’s one thing to be overwhelmed by debt, as we saw during Craig Whyte’s thankfully brief tenure, but to defeat a resolution to repay a debt is a first in my experience.

Who in their right mind would do business with this new board, irrespective of their new appointments?

In just over three months this new board have lost our listing on LSE AIM, failed to convince two NOMAD to accept us as credible business partners, launched a risible OTC share exchange scheme and failed to gain access to ISDX. Many could argue that the strategy was to de-list to allow a convicted criminal to be our chairman, then attempt to relist on an exchange when he is effectively absent in South Africa, and then pick up £8.2M in share receipts.

As the UOF/RST/RF/Level 5 and their official publication The Daily Record, all celebrate the win, they evidently just don’t understand how bad it could be if Ashley takes his gloves off. Ashley did not create a £4B empire by allowing partners to renege on their debts.

It was easy for King to dupe the Rangers fans. We are forming queues to become co-investors. But one co-investor is £5M out of pocket. One of many in King’s chequered criminal past. Those who lost a similar sums and much more to King, including four of the 6 major banks in South Africa, are irrelevant to King

Warburton & Weir do not excite me. I have no idea whether they can restore our fortunes. But if King is allowed to renege on debts, their plans to build a new squad will be undermined. Would you sign for Rangers knowing that the chairman of this club refuses to pay his debts?

      1. JJ,

And, of course, Dave King’s riposte would be to say that why do ‘we’ have to re-pay when there are no repayment terms.
So, either this, as he may well know, is a lie or he knows that Ashley will have to go to court to get his money ring-fenced…..obviously all costs will be to The Rangers and NOT Dave King personally.

He may want to stay in the background but his wishes will be transmitted through his sidekick, mini-me.

      2. JJ

You highlight pretty well why I have lost all faith and pride at being a Rangers fan. We used to pride ourselves on doing things ‘dignified, ‘honourably and we always used to be a rock of all things good and reliable.

Our 140 plus years of history for doing things in this manner has all but evaporated, leaving us the TIT’s (Trotters Independent Traders) of the footballing world. Led by a lying shyster and supported by his band of merry men calling the tunes for the lemmings to follow.

The fact that our illustrious Chairman, well being Chairman of an institution like Rangers meant you had to be illustrious, has called for shareholder to DEFAULT on a loan agreement shows the complete disregard he, Pisspot and the Gummy Bears have for the letter of the law and for fiscal duties to repay loans as per any agreements made by the loanee. Irrespective of the law, the ethics of the actions taken are nothing short of disgusting…..I am ashamed to call myself a Rangers fan with this going on…..IN MY NAME….well Dave, both begging letters for my season ticket renewals have ended up shredded….unread and un opened. I don’t want to look at or read any of the shite you spout. So while my £1000 a season for ST wont break the bank….it is my way of boycotting you and everything you stand for.

I really don’t know what Mike Ashley will do, but my hope is that he rips Paulie and the Gummy Bears a new arsehole and buries that lying scumbag King in legalities that bring him to his knees….I for one will shed no tear for any of them, and I for one will never support their brand of Republicanism adopted from the great Referendum campaign….God Save The Queen was sung with pride at Ibrox EVERY game….when was the last time anyone heard it ringing out over Govan way???

Managers and players come and go……history will always be there….what will future generations make of this part of our history……I shudder to think, but thankfully I will not be part of it. Those of us who stuck by, dug in, paid our dues the past three seasons, the TRUE fans, can not be held responsible for what beholds us….but sadly it is guilt by association and I do not want any association with any of them or what they stand for.

While the hype around the new management team continues….people are not looking at the real story….where our club is going to get the millions required and who is going to bank roll the huge restructuring that needs to happen….while our fat lazy ex anything Rangers, ex manager sits on his fat fuckin arse collecting his £67k per month…hell will freeze over before I ever mention his name ….he is dead to me. This along with the required millions to revamp the stadium and Auchen-howler….I watch with interest, I watch with baited breath….I await the plan with trepidation.

        GSTQ

      3. Gordo, An interpretation……

Resolution 1 was voted by a majority of shareholders in favour of, in principle, NOT releasing the club from the arrangements with Sports Direct. So not strictly a default.
Resolution 2 was voted by a majority of shareholders to renegotiate a ‘new’ deal between the club and Sports Direct…..to the fairness of both parties.

The above play(s) hinge on the repayment terms (and deadlines) of the loan.
        Thus Ashley will have to:
        – go to court to ring-fence another income stream of the club (season ticket money)
        – go to court and argue that due to the lack of corporate governance of the new board that the terms of the facility have been breached
        – wait for an admin event in order to get procedures in place to retrieve his money
        – do nothing (and not antagonise the support) but at the same time show factions at his other clubs like Newcastle Utd and Oldham -as well other business partners- how they can ‘get’ to him

In the meantime Dave can play-out his ‘games’ on fans’ money (he’s defo not going to pay for it…..because he’s unable to) and put doubt in institutional co-investors minds regards terms and conditions that may upset KingCo – to the club’s obvious disadvantage.

  20. From The Blue Room June 15, 2015 — 1:34 pm

STIV welcome, great post and accurate as well, this you only get on RSL where fair comment and factual obeservation is the core platform unlike many of the other allegedly Rangers websites and social networks.

My view is that the Rangers support was united until that is Dave King and Co arrived on the scene last year and together with their self-appointed “Rangers fans spokesperson” aka pliable mouthpieces in the shape of SoS/UoF/RF/RST created the anti-everything it’s the current chairman and boards fault mantra at Rangers, this distrupted what appeared to be a group of people doing their level best to keep Rangers afloat and in the process caused serious reduction in season tickets sales, lower match day attendences, share value erosion and city angst towards Rangers but as we’ve seen in hindsight it was really Dave King the city were against.

But nonetheless the seeds were sown and the events we’ve witnessed in the months leading up to and beyond the EGM bring us to where Rangers are today where the “Rangers fans spokesperson” continue to get more air time given as all real Rangers supporters know and understand is that none of them speak on behalf of the real Rangers support at large and I too get very annoyed when they are referred to as they are when providing any sound bites to MSM/TV etc.

However as we’ve seen part of the problem that exists is that we are divided and Kingco seem at no time to be in any way prepared to not only recognise the real Rangers supporters who didn’t boycott, who did continue to attend, who did buy season tickets and merchandise instead Kingco directed their praise at these “fan groups” and for certain individuals provided match day viewing from the directors box at Ibrox in recent weeks.

What makes it harder for Kingco to re-unite the fans is their continued about turns, their promises and committment to invest not being realised when a significant investment from Kingco and T3B’s upfront weeks ago would have demonstrated their own personal desire to stabilise Rangers and in doing so gone a long way to uniting the support
and encourage a reasonable high level of season ticket renewals.

Instead in recent weeks we’ve had more Kingco spin the latest being his “co-investor” rebranding of the Rangers season ticket holder plus he talks about his generational support and uses his example of his father taking him to see Rangers as a six year old and his grandfather doing the same.

Last year he announced that his father being a Glasgow policeman hated all things football and wasn’t pleased when his son said he was going to see Rangers and support them.

So what is it, was he taken by his father as a six year old or not as it is this kind of double speak that Dave King is allegedly famous for and unless this stops many real Rangers supporters will find it difficult to accept anything said as it just might not be true and this will in turn continue to affect Rangers and therefore the current chairman and his board ability (still not proven) to take Rangers forward.

Kingco promised transparency not double speak so let’s for the sake of Rangers and the real Rangers supporters have that transparency and stop telling “stories” which are either untrue, have no basis in fact and/or can be easily discounted by simply reading previous conversations, press conference statements and Q&A sessions.

Rangers require real leadership not just to produce a new and vibrant Rangers team but also as a club and company in all its’ affairs internally and externally that has for too long been associated with people who seem to speak outside both sides of their mouth at the same time.

So if as we’ve been led to believe overnight that Warburton and Weir are to be the new management team at Rangers which is a progressive step in the right direction let it also be the start of a brave new dawn where what comes out of Ibrox is factual, good news or bad, stick to the purpose of taking Rangers back to there they belong not just for their football style and achievements but also back to what they were, an institution admired and respected everywhere.

If Kingco, Warburton and Weir can achieve this in rapid form the dis-united Rangers support has a chance of becoming once again the force it once was.

But to achieve this Kingco need to and must quickly distance themselves from the self-appointed “fans spokesperson” who speak on behalf of nobody other than themselves, they may have been a useful “go to, make some negative noises” and serve the Kingco purpose but their days are over, it’s all about Rangers now or at least it has to be.

If Kingco don’t see this then I’m afraid the support will remain fractured until an outburst of geniune leadership is forthcoming from the top of the marble staircase.

I wish the new management team well as they have much to do and perhaps maybe in the weeks ahead a place could be found for Ian Cathro in the new set-up once Warburton gets his clear-out underway?

One final point regarding seaosn tickets/co-investor renewal, in the application form (I received an email last week but also hard copy in the post this monring) there is a part where the cost can be spread over 4 months as it has been for several years now, however I noticced in this same section that by choosing to renew this way that and I quote “if you choose to pay your 2015/16 season ticket by card instalments, we will automatically renew your 2016/17 season ticket using the details you provide below”

So is this saying that in the event you renew this way (and assuming you don’t cancel in advance for season 2016/17 very quickly!) then you will be renewing and the monthly amounts will be taken automatically despite not knowing what the 2016/17 cost will be nor whether Rangers will actually be in thePremier League or not?

Seems a rather strange statement to make inside a 2015/16 renewal request or is it another way for Kingco to assume 2016/17 prospective/assumed income to demonstrate a viable business to prospective investors and/or the city for ISDX purposes e.g. “look all these supporters have signed up for the next two seasons”?

I’m making a little assumption of my own here in that it could be a reasonable majority of fans renew their season tickets using the 4 month method to spread the cost.

  21. I have to agree with you STIV.

Over the last season or two our support has never been more divided. We can all have our opinions, but when it spills over into abuse just because someone does not agree with you then it is taking things too far.

Personally I happen to think most of the abuse has come from the boycott brigade of last season, who seemed to being led like sheep with a diet of misinformation that was somehow being passed off as fact. These fans or so called fans struggled to grasp that others had differing opinions and should have been granted that respect.Instead what we seen emerge was a diatribe of abuse which was embarrassing to see.

The quicker we sort things out on the park and get a team to be proud of again then I am sure we will see an end to this bear on bear infighting. Then as you say STIV we can be a united force again and turn our attention to the real enemies of the club.

  22. Stiv,

Well done on your first stint at posting.

My own thoughts are that the in-fighting isn’t helped by the two protagonists’ [King and Ashley] communications…..as Bill has posted about several times.
King, when he comes out with statements, seems to contradict himself a lot (along with his cohorts, Murray & Gilligan).
Ashley doesn’t communicate enough and is all technical and legal.

The fans are thus in no-man’s land, polarised and partly in disarray.
However, overall not enough fans are open and debatable.

  23. Hi Merlin. Just a couple of days ago I was going to ask if Vamper was OK , as I have not seen much of his posts, I hope he is not one who has closed his account as his comments were allways a joy to read, hope all is well Vamps

    1. he may be abroad vamper likes his american holidays

      1. You may be right GN, It will be coming up to the rodeo season, cowboys seem to be a good theme right now

  24. Scunnered,
Everything you say there is true as since we got the internet it has allowed people too stir up trouble.I’m on Facebook for simple reason I’m Admin on a dog photo page me and two others set up with now over 1100 members but gladly not all post.I also use Twitter too but on there I find there is always some S*** stirrer out too cause trouble.Fortunately the Police are now clamping down on some of it but no matter what is said and sent it can’t be taken back Aka Chris Graham making balls up.
All these social Media platforms give huge pleasure too lots of people but can very easily destroy said peoples lives sadly too.

  25. Well said Stiv …

Social media has been used as a weapon by a number of Rangers fans against each other. Sad to see it and watch it at times but inevitably it boils over.

Congratulations on your first piece , I hope it’s the start of plenty more.
    Kenny S

  26. It is very saddening to see that some of our own fans have appeared to lose sight of the big picture , which is , of course , following our Team and showing our support .
I`m sure our huge support in the days before the advent of the Internet , had as many differing views on how the Club / Board should run themselves , but in those days many of those issues were debated over a pint with friends on a Saturday evening , after the game.
In the past 3-4 years , it has been difficult for most Rangers fans to find a positive headline from biased or even unbiased media and i have logged out of ” social ” media many times in order not to be drawn into the arguments and the negativity i feel from it .
Let us also not forget , there are some who masquerade as Rangers fans and have nothing better to do ( it seems) , than constantly muddy waters and enforce their twisted views from their phones and laptops , while their mhates are filling the comments section of some so called Newspaper with their hateful diatribe .
We must remember , as Rangers fans ; We are better than that , We Are The People and THEY hate us for it . THEY have tried to have UEFA write off our history . THEY have contested Scotlands most successful Club and the Worlds most successful Club consistently because of their hateful agenda , THEY will always be looking for ways to discredit our Club and our Fans . Everytime THEY see an online argument between Rangers fans , THEY will regard it as a victory .
We must have debate and freedom of speech , our forebearers fought for it but we must also have respect towards each other when expressing our opinions , that is why : WE ARE THE PEOPLE.

  27. You’re quite right mate, it’s soul destroying. The one thing that annoys me the most is certain media outlets labeling someone at a ‘fans chief’ and quoting them as if they are a spokesperson for us all!

    1. Donald,
I was beeling when I read that as he certainly isn’t any spokesman for all the folk on this site which you will know has very large following.Dare I say more than RST/RangersFirst/BuyRangers/SoS/UoF and loads of others all added together.
